Hockey J&K is conducting trials for 12Th Hockey India Junior Men National Hockey Championship 2022 which is going to held at Kovilapatti-(TN) w.e.f 18Th May 2022 To 29th May 2022. Trials for the championship will held on 20th and 21st April 2022 at 4.00 PM at KK Hakku Stadium, Jammu followed by 21 days training camp for Championship . Interested players may join for trials on the scheduled dates. The player must be born after 1.1.2003 and should be registered on the MU portal of Hockey India. The player will only be eligible to represent his team in only one event i.e. either participate in State member unit national championship or inter-departmental national championship or Academy Unit National Championship. Also a player will be allowed to participate in only one of the categories i.e. Senior or Junior or Sub Junior national championship. No TA/DA will be paid for participation in the trials.

Screening & to meet the Junior women team participate in 11th Hockey India Junior Women National Hockey championship-2021.

A function was organized at KK Hakku Astroturf Stadium for screening & to meet the Junior women team departing to Simdega in Jharkhand to participate in 11th Hockey India Junior Women National Hockey championship-2021. Ms. Nuzhat Gul Secretary J&K Sports Council was the chief guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion she emphasized to train the women in such a manner that she herself gets empowered without any external support. She quoted the Gurbani of Guru Nanak Dev ji “ So Kyun Manda akhiye jit jamen rajan” means why to call her ( the women )inferior from whom even Kings are born. She asked the female players to excel and make the name of nation as well as J&K proud. She appreciated the role of Hockey J&K in promoting Hockey in J&K, she asked Hockey J&K to specially promote women hockey in J&K. She assured that the replacement of Astroturf and other civil works at KK Hakku Stadium will be completed in mid June this year in a time bound manner. Earlier while welcoming the Chief Guest and other dignitaries, Dr. Taran Singh general secretary hockey J&K appreciated her honest approach to promote sports in J&K. he said that the completion of work at KK Hakku Stadium for replacement and other civil works at an earliest so that some big activity may be orgnised in Jammu. She distributed sports kits ( Track suit , uniform etc)to the team for Junior women nationals. Dr. Zafar Iqbal KAS Chief Accounts Officer JKSC participated as special guest on the occasion where as Sh. Ashok Sharma Dy. Director STC represented Sports authority of India as special invitee. Sh. Ashok Singh Jamwal Divisional Sports Officer JKSC accompanied the Chief Guest.

Rajeev Sharma working President Hockey J&K, were prominently present in the function, besides many presidents and other office bearers of different hockey clubs were present in function. Screening of the Hockey J&K team for 11th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2021

Screening of the Hockey J&K team for 11th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2021 was held today at Green field Jammu. The team will leave for Simdega Jharkhand on 5th March 2021. 20 including 18 players coach and Manager will participate in the championship.

This is the first national championship organized by Hockey India after COVID-19 pandemic.

Sh. Ashok Singh Jamwal Div. Sports Officer, Ex. En Sports Council, Sh. Rajinder Singh Kuku General Secretary Hockey India, Sh. Rajiv Sharma Working President Hockey J&K, Col. Rtd Paramjit Singh Jamwal and Dr. Taran Singh General Secretary Hockey J&K were present along with selection committee.

Poonch lifts VK Kohli trophy for Hockey J&K UT (Men) Championship 2020 in finals.

Poonch lifts VK Kohli trophy for Hockey J&K UT Championship 2020 (Men) organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K Sports Council at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium Jammu. Jammu Blue runners up was awarded with Sham Lal Sharma trophy. For the first time this championship played on league basis with the Motto of this championship "Say no to banned drugs "

Mr. Sarvar Hafiz IAS Secretary Youth Services & sports who presided over the function and was introduced with both teams along with Sh. Ramesh Kumar IAS. While speaking on the occasion He said that to promote hockey amoung the youth, Govt is working on to establish 6 AstroTurf in J&K with special attention on those areas where hockey is being played most including Poonch, Baramulla, Srinagar,Jammu & like wise. He said that flood lights have been installed in KK Hakku Hockey Stadium and very soon works on replacement of 20 years old turf will start.

Sh. Ramesh Kumar IAS CEO Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Chief Guest while speaking on the occasion said that Hockey in India had bright past and hope that it will once again regain it's place in world hockey. He added that tournament like this will contribute a lot in J&K Hockey . Beside distributing the prizes amoung winners and the runners up, Hockey J&K gave Hockey sticks and complete Goal Keeper kit to the participating teams. Shaeed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation gave one dozen hockey balls to each participating teams by Sh. Rajiv Sharma noted industrialist.

A hockey stick was presented to youngest player of tournament Mr. Gurjit Singh by Sham Lal Hockey Academy Poonch.

Poonch won finals of Hockey J&K UT Championship( Men)- 2020 defeating favourite Jammu Blue by 3 goals to 0.Jammu blue gave tough fight but Pooch used better skills and won the match. Matinder Pal Singh wearing jersey no. 11 scored 2 goals in 32nd & 49th minute of game where as Pawan Kumar wearing jersey no. 8 scored goal in 23rd minute of game for Poonch in the 2nd quarter. The teams participated in Hockey J&K UT Championship 2020 (Men ) includes Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Shopian, Ganderbal,Budgam, Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu Red, Jammu Blue, Hira Nagar, Kathua, In this championship daily 4 matches were played .The matches were played as per rules and regulations of Hockey India Umpire included Mr. Brajesh Kumar, Mr. Sunil Kumar, Mr. Salim, Mr. Manish Kumar from HI .Technical team included Gurmeet Kour ,Anjali , Talib Hussain.
